Terms of Service
Last updated 1 Aug 2026
These terms govern your use of the FilingIQ website and application. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them, so please read them carefully. If you are using FilingIQ on behalf of a firm or company, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation, and “you” means that organisation.
Acceptance of these terms
You accept these terms by registering for an account, clicking to agree, or using the service. If you do not agree, do not use FilingIQ.
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email or in-product notice. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Description of the service
FilingIQ provides monitoring, alerting, search and analysis tools built on information published on the UK Companies House register, including filing deadlines, register changes, identity-verification status and a filing-risk score.
The service is an information tool. It does not provide accountancy, legal, insolvency or other professional advice, and a risk score is not a statement of creditworthiness. You remain responsible for your own filings, advice given to your clients, and decisions taken on the basis of information shown in the service.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use FilingIQ. Account information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date.
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at security@filingiq.com if you suspect unauthorised use. Seats on multi-user plans are for named individuals and may not be shared.
Subscriptions, reveals and metering
Paid plans renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and except where required by law fees already paid are non-refundable.
Some features are metered. In particular, Company Register Reveals are allocated per billing period according to your plan, are consumed when you reveal a record, do not roll over unless your plan says otherwise, and have no cash value. We may adjust plan allowances prospectively; if we materially reduce an allowance mid-term on a paid plan, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the remainder of the period.
We may change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: scrape, bulk-export or resell data from the service except through features we provide for that purpose; use the service to send unlawful marketing or otherwise breach UK GDPR, PECR or other applicable law in your outreach; probe, disrupt or circumvent security or metering controls; share access with people outside your subscription; or use the service to harass any individual named on the register.
Where you use information from FilingIQ to contact companies or individuals, you do so as an independent controller and are solely responsible for the lawfulness of that contact.
We may suspend or limit accounts that we reasonably believe breach this section, and we will tell you when we do unless the law prevents it.
Public register data and Companies House
Information in FilingIQ is derived from the public Companies House register and is presented as published there, subject to sync delays. We do not verify register information and make no warranty that it is accurate, complete or current. Companies House data is used under the applicable Companies House data terms and, where relevant, the Open Government Licence.
FilingIQ is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of Companies House or any UK government body. Filing obligations and deadlines shown in the service are calculated from register data and are indicative; the authoritative record is always the register itself.
Intellectual property
We (and our licensors) own the service, including its software, design, branding, risk models and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your internal business purposes during your subscription.
You retain all rights in the data you upload, such as your client list and notes. You grant us a licence to host and process that data solely to provide the service. Feedback you choose to send us may be used to improve the product without obligation to you.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Subject to that, the service is provided “as is”; we exclude all implied warranties, and we are not liable for loss of profits, loss of business, missed filing deadlines, penalties imposed by Companies House or HMRC, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid to us for the service in that period (or £100 if you are on a free plan).
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms and (where the breach is remediable) fail to remedy it within 14 days of notice, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service, in which case we will give reasonable notice and a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees for the unused period.
On termination your right to use the service ends and, after a short grace period for export, we will delete your account data in line with our Privacy Policy. Sections which by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, liability and governing law) survive termination.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the service (including non-contractual disputes), are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and your plan details, are the entire agreement between us regarding the service.
